TURN TO SUNSHINE
A WeChat mini-program to deliver mental health intervention
People who are newly diagnosed with HIV often experience significant psychological distress, which could impact their medication adherence. Due to a lack of mental health professionals in China, mental health needs from this highly vulnerable population are largely left unaddressed. Turn to Sunshine is a software platform that provide brief Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)-based psychological interventions to help address users’ mental health needs. With the assistance of trained nurses or lay mental health providers, this project also aim to test the task sharing model in addressing mental health needs in low resource settings.
